Google has introduced some changes in the Gmail with a view to facilitate users’ experience especially with the Contacts feature. It says that the new features have been incorporated based on the feedback of the users. In addition to it, Google has made small changes to Gmail look as well.

New Features:

• Mail, Contacts and Tasks have been grouped together to appear at the top left
• Compose mails has now been made into a separate button instead of being a link
• Keyboard Shortcuts have been allowed for Contacts
• Contacts can be sorted now by First or Last name
• Recent changes done to Contact can be undone
• Changes made on the Contacts page will be automatically saved by Gmail
• “More actions” menu allows the user to merge contacts
• ‘Select’, ‘Read’, ‘Unread’, ’Starred’ and ‘Unstarred’ links have been clubbed together in drop down menu

As evident, most features relate to Contacts which clearly indicates that this time Google’s principal focus was to make Contacts experience friendlier to the Gmail users. However Google Apps users will have to wait to make use of these updates for the time being.

• Try to write your content so interesting so that it will flow smoothly for the reader. This doesn’t mean forget about SEO, it simply means don’t make it the be-all and end-all of your content. Google likes it when you don’t overdo the SEO stuff!

• Ask your friends and/or relatives if they genuinely like the content you are writing for the web. If they like it, there is an excellent chance that Google will like it, too.

• Update your content frequently. This is one of the most effective ways you can get in Google’s good books! Google loves fresh content, so if you supply it, you are helping your website be a favorite with this search giant.

• Use SEO with SMO, or Social Media Optimization. Google responds very well to websites who are adept at combining these two things.
